(More customer reviews)The yarn winder is very light weight, so you need to take that into account.It's a wonderful bargain at this price.It comes in its own plastic case--a pretty blue to match the color of the winder.The case is just 2"x2"x18", so it's compact for storage.
I have found that my favorite way to wind/unwind is with the shaft in a horizontal position; I adjust it so that the wheel is near the clamp, and the extra shaft extends over the table.I then place a weight on top of the shaft to stabilize the unit.It works very well; I have wound scads of skeins of everything from crochet cotton size 10 to a heavy worsted.The handle for winding a skein is great...why doesn't everyone have one?!
