(More customer reviews)This thing is great!We saw one of these out on Clearwater Beach, and I said "That's what we need!".I was tired of chasing my old umbrella down the beach when it got too windy.

You can set this up as a standard umbrella, you can then let the flaps down and use the provided tie downs to steady it and provide a little extra shade.You can lie the thing down on edge, and create the little lean-to set up which is great to really get out of the sun with.

The umbrella provides an adequate amount of shade in either configuration.We had it on the beach open, with the side flaps down (not on it's side), and it cast enough shade for two adults, and then 3 children playing in front of us in the sand.

I thought it was pretty easy to set up in beach sand, and stayed put with a breeze.The pegs might be a little difficult to get in the ground at a lake or park where the sand is more compact, so might want to bring a rubber mallet or something.Overall quality is pretty nice, and seems well manufactured.

SHIPPING NOTE:Mine did not come in a box.It came in a shipping "bag" which was taped up pretty well.Use caution when cutting the tape on the bag, if not you may end up cutting right into the nylon carry bag for the umbrella and possibly the umbrella itself!
